Copying Data from Excel Spread Sheets

To copy data from an Excel spreadsheet:

  1. Open the Excel sheet spreadsheet containing the data.

  2. Select the data you want to copy.

  3. In the Lab Data page, click the copy from excel link. The confirmation message appears as follows:

"Please wait, Copy operation in progress…”

Once the copy operation is completed, the following message appears.
" Please wait, Generating lab data report".

After the data is copied, the Import Summary - Lab Data window displaying the status of the copy process appears.

In this window, the number of rows and columns of data copied is displayed. If the excel sheet contains invalid data, such data is not copied and the reason why the data was not copied is displayed. The number of the row/column containing the invalid data is also displayed in the window.

Invalid data can be of the following types:

  1. Click Print to print the status or click Close, the following message appears:
    "Please wait, loading lab data records in progress".

  2. Click Forms à Standard. The Standard form appears.

  3. Enter a date in the Latest received date text box. The data copied to the Lab Data page is saved.

You must copy data from an entire row in the Excel sheet.

The copied data appears in the Laboratory Data and Full Data Entry pages.

     

    Reverting Copied Data

    You can also revert the copying, if you have not saved the data by entering the Latest received date.

    To revert the copying:

    1. In the Lab Data page, click Undo Copy. The following message appears.
      "Are you sure, you want to undo all copied records from Lab Data?”

    2. Click Ok to confirm. The Lab Data page, with the copied data removed, appears.
